The lion’s mane jellyfish (Cyanea capillata), is the largest species of jellyfish in the known world. Though their sizes can vary greatly they can reach a diameter of 2.5 metres (8.2 ft), and their tentacles can reach a length 30 metres (98 ft).
They are a cold water species that cannot live in warmer waters.
